Worship Announcement from the Pastor

Members and Friends of Wayne Church,

Due to the virus threat, we are cancelling all on-campus activities and worship services for an undetermined amount of time.  However, you can listen to our online worship services here....

Long ago in the 4th century A.D. as a plague afflicted the Roman city of Caesaria, many people fled for safety in the countryside. However, in the midst of the fleeing inhabitants,  at least one group stayed behind to care for those who were inflicted and suffering, the followers of Jesus Christ.  One religious leader of the time wrote:

"...The Christian's deeds were on everyone's lips, and they glorified the God of the Christians. Such actions convinced them that they alone were pious and truly reverent to God."

Over the centuries and now,  the words of Paul are a powerful spiritual guide in times of suffering:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:6-7

May we see these days as an opportunity to be a witness of faith in a time of fear, security in Christ even as world events are scary and chaotic.

May we continue to lift up one another, our nation, and our world in prayer.

Blessings in Christ,
